I had the honour to model in the Spring Free from Racism fashion show. A fundraiser to raise awareness on racism and to explore the cultures and communities in our city and area. I got to meet multiple Regina MLA's and government party leaders, many modelling different cultural attire. The show took place at a restaurant within the city, packed with supporters. I modelled for the Caribbean, partaking as the Caribbean Carnival Girl.
NEW YORK: REVOLUTION BOOKS
Wandering around Harlem, New York City, we stumbled upon a small bookstore along the Malcom X Blvd by the Harlem General Hospital. We ventured inside and were fascinated by the books. We talked to the workers at the store and they disclosed that the store was actually volunteer based and the books were all donated. There was a small little reading corner and even children's books. The volunteer told us that the store was all about revolution and the history of the United States, knowing that not many people had access to learn about this history the bookstore was open for people to come learn history from all races, cultures and points of time in history. They were also fundraising as the store was falling into near foreclosure, we donated as much change we could and visited the shop one last time before we began our journey home.
